Occasionally a GBP post may fail to publish due to a temporary API issue or a problem with the post content itself. Here's how to handle it.

Why posts fail

The most common causes of post failure are a temporary Google API error, an expired GBP connection, or post content that violates Google's posting policies (for example, posts containing certain promotional language that Google flags). Failed scheduled posts will not retry automatically.

Finding a failed post

Failed posts appear in the Failed tab under Posts with a red indicator and a brief error message explaining the cause. You'll also receive an email notification when a scheduled post fails to publish.

How to retry

Open the failed post by clicking on it in the Failed tab. Review the error message — if it was a temporary API issue, simply click Retry Now. If the error suggests a content policy issue, edit the caption to remove any flagged language before retrying.

What is preserved when you retry

When you retry a failed post, your original caption, image, and scheduling settings are all preserved. You don't need to regenerate or re-upload anything unless you want to make changes.
